• What is a zine?
A zine is a collection of artwork, stories, and other creative works, all centered around a particular theme and created by fans. This particular zine is dedicated to the works of MXTX and focuses on the theme of fashion.• Is this zine for-profit or for-charity?
This is a pay-for-production zine, so all funds will go directly to covering production costs.• Is the zine digital or physical?
The zine will be both physical and digital.• What fashion is allowed?
We encourages creative exploration of fashion within the MXTX canon universe, focusing on styles and cultural aesthetics from "MDZS" "TGCF," and "SVSS." Contributors can explore fashion trends, fabrics, and accessories from these novel.• Will there be character assignments to ensure diversity in the zine?
We aim for a diverse portrayal of as much of the cast as possible. Contributors will be asked to submit multiple pitches, encouraging variation in depicted characters.• How many contributors will be involved?
We plan to accept 25 Page Artists, 8 Writers, and 5 Merch Artists, though these numbers may adjust based on application turnout.• Are collaborations allowed?
Yes, collaborations between page artists and writers are encouraged. Please notify us during the pitch period or before starting any work.• Is traditional art allowed?
Yes, traditional art is welcome. However, we require a clean, high-quality scan of your work, with a minimum resolution of 300dpi.•What will writers contribute?
Writers will create content that could be found in a magazine. So we will be accepting: articles, interviews, quizzes and other types of word activites. We would like things that explore different clothing trends, fashion, accessories, etc. We're hoping writers will think of various ways to go about this!• Are there any restrictions on the fashion depicted?
We will not accept any offensive depictions or cultural appropriation. The zine will also exclude NSFW pieces. The mod team reserves the right to refuse any pitches deemed inappropriate. If you are unsure whether your idea is acceptable, please reach out to us. We have a dedicated cultural sensitivity moderator to ensure proper research and respect.•How will contributors be compensated?
We aim to provide everyone with full physical bundles, with excess profits divided between all contributors. However, if the profit margin is not high enough, we will be providing lower tiers (e.g. free shipping, zines only, etc.). Digital bundles are guaranteed for all contributors.
